How I’ve changed…

Uncategorized May 19th, 2008

A lot has changed ever since my 6th grade year. The transition I made from 5th to 6th is a lot different from the one I made from 6th to 7th. On the contrary, along with all the changes came all the problems. I had to learn that people change. The fact that they changed for the better or the worst was completely up to them.

As a 6th grader I didn’t know how to stand up for myself. However, now as a 7th grader I know that you shouldn’t let people take advantage of you. I was less talkative, and I was kind of shy. But all that has changed now because I feel more comfortable and I know my surrondings more. I think that as a 7th grader I have more confidence and I’m not afraid to stand up for myself. That is a major change in my personsality.

I am definaltely a different person than that tiny shy 6th grader. However, just because I changed doesn’t mean I’m a completely new person. I am still a bubbly, friendly person. In 6th grade I didn’t join in any clubs. However, now that I’m more familiar with the school I am in sports and joined the student council.

I have learned a lot over the past year from 6th and 7th grade. I had to deal with many changes. It was a bumpy road, but in the end it was a good turn out. 6th to 7th grade may not seem like such a big deal, but to me it was one of the biggest transitions I made so far. 6th and 7th grade were very important years to me.

The Battle of the Girls

Uncategorized May 19th, 2008

I interviewed two girls named Koleena and Christiana to discover the real them. Who is the real Koleena? Who is the real Christiana? These are the questions we need to ask ourselves. What is their zodiac signs? Who is their role model? I have gone undercover to unravel the truth behind the Untalan walls.  I’m leading you behind the scenes and we are not leaving till we get the truth.

Koleena and Christiana are very similar to one another. Christiana and Koleena are both 8th grade girls who attend Untalan Middle School. In the same fashion, they both love chocolate. They have a similar personality, which is quiet, but yet loud. And, they will both be going to Academy for High School. Koleena is a creative writer. Similarly, Christiana is a creative writer.

Although the girls are very similar, they also have many differences. Christiana loves to hangout with her friends in her free time. However, Koleena loves to talk on the phone or go on the computer in her spear time. Koleena’s favorite colors are blue, black, and green. On the other hand, Christiana’s favorite color is hot pink. Christiana is an aquarius. But, Koleena is a scorpio. Koleena loves stars. On the contrary, Christiana loves her i-pod. Christiana’s favorite chartoon character is Hello Kitty. However, Koleena’s  chartoon character is Tweety.

I have found many similarities between the two girls. However, I have also found many differences. These girls share common triats. But, they take interest in different things. Koleena is a very friendly person. Similarly, Christiana is a very friendly person. These girls were very interesting to interview.

My Goals

Uncategorized May 19th, 2008

As a 6th grader I have many goals in life because I have my whole life ahead of me. However, I have choosen only two out of those goals. One of these goals affects me as a person. On the other hand, the other goal I have has to deal with me as a student. My goals are very similar to one another, but have different standards and help me reach different hights.

School is very important to me, and I set very high standards for myself. My goal is to keep my atittude under control and to get keep my average 90 or above. I have kept this goal except for the fact that maybe once or twice my atittude would really show. However, I have tried my hardess to keep my average at 90 or above. For example, I have been averaging A’s in all of my classes. It’s been rough, but i’ve managed to stay on top of this goal.

One of my life goals is to be friendly to all people, but to stand up for myself. I would say that I have had my share of being rejected and unwelcomed. I hated that feeling and so I would never want to make someone feel the same way. For example, I have welcomed every one and I would make it a point to meet someone new whenever possible. I have done a fine job sticking up for myself. I am a very small and innocent looking girl, but looks can be deceiving. If I feel that something isn’t right I would stick up for what I think is right.

Those are just two of many goals I have made so far. I know that i’ll be setting more goals for myself in the future and i’ll be ready for whatever gets thrown my way. I’m really glad that i have accomplioshed these goalss so far. This has been a very interesting ride. Two down 1ooo more to go.

Powerpoint Presentations

Uncategorized May 18th, 2008

My classmates did a great job with their powerpoint presentations. Darian, who did a presentation on karma, had a good understanding of her topic. On the other hand, Christian, who did a presentation on cookies, showed his passion for his topic. However, all of the people who presented spoke loud with confident. They showed that they know their topic.

I think that a powerpoint presentation should reflect how the person feels. If your presentation is sad then you should show some emotion. A good presenter would be very confident and should speak to their audience. Powerpoint presentations should be very fun, and your viewers shouldn’t be bored. That’s how I would expect powerpoint presentations to be.

The Arctic Wolf

Uncategorized March 25th, 2008

I did a report on the Arctic Wolf, and I found out so many interesting things about them. Well like every one else I went to the search engine called Google to find out more about my fury friend. It showed me many sites containing information on the Arctic wolf. I found myself going through each site looking for info.I found out that the scientific name for the arctic wolf is Canis Lupis Arctos. Another interesting fact was that the wolf can go 5 months in the dark.

I found this animal very interesting. The fact that it can go 20 miles in search of food. They can walk 20 miles in one single day. This animal also plays a big role in folklore and mythology. But it shows the complete opposite about these creatures. It labels them as the BIG BAD WOLF. That’s not fair considering that they are curious and friendly animals. A scientist was able to live with them and learn their ways. That does not sound threatening. Another cool fact was that they hunt an kill animals twice their size like the musk oxen. I can go on about this animal for hours and it only took about 2 to research it. That’s how amazing this animal is.

I said before that I went to Google to research the arctic wolf. I even went to Google in search of pictures. It gave me great pictures, but the info. I had to hunt down myself. They gave me some sites like the WWF which gave me so much info. Although those sites were very resourceful, there were some sites that gave me the same thing as the last site. That was my major problem. Because the arctic wolf is rare there is not that much information. Well I hope this animal stays around for a long time and does’t become extinct like so many other great animals. Just because they’re endangered does’t mean they’re gone. We still have a chance to do one good thing out of all the wrongs that we are responsible for. The Arctic wolf has captured my heart hope it’s captured yours.
